Situation
An international restaurant chain, with more than 900
stores in the domestic US, wanted to improve their
customer acquisition. The firm was allocating a high
percentage of their marketing dollars to traditional
media (radio, spot tv, print) and promotional efforts.
The company wanted to increase targeted direct marketing,
but their list sources couldn’t scale to a larger
audience.
Solution
G2KC used sources of the client’s customer data
and through our cloning approach developed a series of
rankings across our proprietary data file of 190 million
marketable adults to determine the attributes that correlated
with value. Based on these attributes, G2KC delivered
a highly relevant list source for their database marketing
program.
Result
The G2KC cloned approach provided an untapped source
of marketing adults who welcomed the message, but were
previously unreachable. Response rates to the initial
promotional campaign test showed an 18% improvement over
the average response rates using vertical lists. Further
the targeting capabilities of the cloning approach matched
the most expensive lists in the test. The G2KC cloning
approach is now the standard and largest percentage of
new customer acquisition efforts.
